This test has sensitivity and specificity issues (outside of the ridiculous cycle count). The Rapid Test is a Lateral Flow Test that was calibrated to the PCR test (so less reliable again) The secondary test is a PCR test and none of the tests have been approved by the FDA or Health Canada for diagnosis purposes. The secondary test is considered positive even if negative or not enough material to test! The Alberta Scientific Advisory Group Published the statement that Asymptomatic Testing with a PCR COULD NOT BE USED TO INFER AN INFECTION. This position has never changed.
