According to NASA and Astronomers there are five stars that take the place of "Polaris" over a 25000 year period. So by their figures Polaris would have to move 1 degree every 72.2 years approximately. So, in my fathers life time it should have moved from centre just over 1 degree. However it has been centred for provably centuries in the past and it won't move in the next 76 years either.... just another way to prove your point.

It also would suggest that if Polaris is moving so are all the Stars circling around it simultaneously! But we don’t observe this. Navigational instruments that can only work on a flat stationary surface! https://www.britannica.com/technology/sextant-instrument https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrolabe
