As a canadian, I can tell you that the purpose of these censorship laws was never to ensure that media companies are compensated but rather to squelch all of the independent voices that found a place for expression on Facebook to individual sharing their stories. Basically, Trudeau got exactly what he was seeking, which was the silencing of independent voices critical of him, his party, and his insane WEF-driven policies.
