Hi Dave It's a good question! There is no "nice" answer. I see no reason for self defense in the scriptures. Jesus always taught "turn the other cheek." As horrible as rape and abuse of children is, it has happened to untold multitudes of Christians over the centuries. Few survived. Most were murdered. We have never witnessed this in Canada so it is incomprehensible. It is a daily reality for many every day in other countries. Hebrews 19:32-34 is illuminating. "But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; 33Partly, whilst ye were made a gazing stock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. 34For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance." So is Hebrews 11:36-40. "And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 37They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; 38(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. 39And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect." There is NO mention of rape yet history tells us that this is what conquerors do to defile the vanquished. Personally i believe that when it happens you'll be separated from your spouse so you'll be spared from seeing anything. That's been the usual procedure recorded in history. A one on one attempt at deflecting attack would be possible and may deter someone however a group attack is something else. There is actually NO scriptural justification for "killing" an enemy or aggressor. We are not to "bear" arms for the purpose of violence. As the scripture declares clearly in Romans 8:36, "As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." origin Psalm 44:22. Most Christians forget that "they" are NOT the protector. God is. Self defense can quickly become "manslaughter" and often does. Is it justified? I don't think so. The scriptures are clear: we are to trust God in everything BUT when it's time to die then that's it. Time's up! That time is NOT for us to decide! We live righteously, we put all our trust in God to take care of us BUT we are living in Satan's domain. We are surrounded by wickedness. Some Christians will live and die of old age but MOST will not. In a sense Canada has been CURSED with peace. Canadians have little idea how the rest of the world lives. They believe they are entitled to a long, happy life even when most live wickedly. I have traveled widely and seen the other side. Life is precarious in many places. Many children never get to grow up and many adults die young. In short, God knows our days. Our prayer should be that when we go it is quick but who can know how it will be? Violence may delay but certainly won't stop what is coming! It is prophecy being fulfilled. Finally, Rev 14:12 exhorts us to be PATIENT and FAITHFUL through this persecution and conquering of the Saints! It won't be easy but God will strengthen us!

Thank you for your response and scriptural insight. Very good citations of which I am aware and thanks for the reminder there. In the OT the saints were encouraged to war against God's enemies. This the New where the old morality is not expired but increased to "The righteousness of Jesus Christ in us". I definitely see the making of overt war wrong but I am still wrestling with self defense. I guess it is because of a lot of exposure to American Christians. I will continue to address scripture and your response.

Hi Thanks for sharing. I read this article. It is standard SDA twisting of scriptures. Daniel 7:23 describes the 4th Beast as a kingdom NOT a nation. That Beast is the Babylonian Roman Catholic "Political" and "Spiritual" Empire NOT the USA. No nations are mentioned in this scripture. All world corporations are already controlled by Papal Knights. This council is being set up as a deception to keep people believing that the Jews run the world. It's just a front. The Jesuits run everything from behind a myriad number of councils, tribunals and other secret organizations. Cheers!

The USA is NOT the 2nd Beast of Revelation. It is the Jesuit Military Order of the Roman Catholic Cult. The Image of the Beast is the Vatican United Nations World Government. Revelation talks about 2 "ORGANIZATIONS" not nations. Your interpretation of Revelation is incorrect! Please watch my Video No. 101 for a correct explanation of Revelation 13.
