When I was child, I believed National Geographic was an honest and scientific publication. That may even have been true at the time ...

Thank fuck!!. Aren't we all so glad America is the centre of the world!!!. Like Tony & you all thinks!! 😝 🤔... Sorry which stations are you talking about man!!?. Be handy if you could provide link's to all these graphs!!? 🤔... So what constitutes as a dangerous day as the national geographic say's!?? 🤔. You are now talking about summers I presume!!! 😝... 🤔. Hey sorry, I didn't have time to read all the other article's & or studies!!. Did you!!?... Though I can certainly smell a cherry picking farmer around here somewhere!!. Fuck they stink!!! 😝

Keep your face diaper on sheep . Everybody that gets covid is wearing one. .🐑😷 Perhaps the diaper will stop you from exhaling the 3 pounds of co2 you are expelling everyday.

Fear porn. We have this sort of thing from the BBC. One of the favourite questions they ask about climate or any other thing they want some fear factor on, is" How worried should we be?" the answer is always from a scientist or expert indicating we should be "very worried" The facial expression of egging on the fear from the interviewer is so noticeable, it is blatant. It is just like the acting on a bad B movie. The impartial newsreader has vanished from the face of the Earth.

After I retired I have been spending some weeks in the desert of California and Arizona and it indeed has been up to 125 degrees. So in a way they are right. With millions of baby boomers retiring and moving to the sun belt they are experiencing this heat. But. it's always been hot there.

TonyRomano

So they read the map backwards? Inverted the data? Are too lazy to come up with their own map.

John_Crowfeather

I see the reference on the scary temperature map was The Union of Concerned Scientists. I did not know they were in the business of collecting meteorological data. I understand their specialty is being concerned.

Now you're using the tampered with noaa data, nice. The little Ice age was real. No shit we have warmed a little since the coldest time in a thousand years. Thank you for your knowledge.

notmev

@Billington There is multiple ways that the temperature data is adjusted. Please detail what adjustment methods you disagree with and any papers that support your "tampered" belief.

Billington

Raw versus adjusted? I'll go with raw. I do like that you use Dr. Judith "Whore For Oil" (as called by other Climate Bigots) Curry for your argument for adjustments though, but you do know she is a skeptic.

notmev

@Billington Yes, I know she is a sceptic, but she is a scientist and presents things from that perspective. Who calls her a whore for oil? She has her biases, so what. Attack her for her scientific methods if you disagree with her.

Billington

Since you are not dick like .666" dick I'll give you some of my time. What do you know about speleothems (cave formations)? This is an article about the LIA and it's affect in South America. https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2018-07/fda-rsh072418.php

notmev

@Billington '"When we look at the paleoclimate data for the period corresponding to the LIA, we see more cold in South America, but the rainfall patterns changed," Novello said. From this information, it can be concluded that if the climate grows colder in the northern hemisphere, it rains more in the southern hemisphere. The moisture convergence ends up moving south. Conversely, when the climate warms up in the northern hemisphere, it rains less in the southern hemisphere.' Now compare that to what is happening now. What drove the warming during the MCA and the cold during the LIA? Are those same things happening now? Why is the warming now global? To say that because some change in our climate happened a millennium ago and therefore anthropogenic climate change is not happening now without ANY attribution is crap. Oh, I feel honored that you have given me some of your time.

notmev

Here, I'll give you some of my time: https://www.swsc-journal.org/articles/swsc/full_html/2017/01/swsc170014/swsc170014.html

Billington

notmev so are you saying that the LIA and the Medieval Warm Period happened? If you are that means you don't believe in Michael Mann's Hockey stick. That blows apart the whole idea of CO2 driving climate change.

TonyHeller666No_5

Hey Billy Boy!!. Can you please point out exactly what is wrong with the hockey stick!!?... 🤔

Billington

.666" Dick, the problem with the hockey schtick is that yes temps have gone up since the end of the Little Ice Age, but to make that look bad Mann got rid of the warmth of the Medieval Warm Period and the cold of the Little Ice Age. Another problem with the hockey stick is that Michael Mann refuses to show how he made the graph, he even lost a lawsuit to Dr. Tim Ball that cost Mann ~$700,000 Canadian because he would show how he made the graph that has changed the climate debate so much. Not sharing how you did your work is a violation of the scientific method, you show your work and let other scientists try your work to verify it, that has never happened. I know I have asked you before if you believe in the LIA and the MWP and I saw you say that you had answered that question, but I didn't see it, so could you answer it one more time please. https://i1.wp.com/principia-scientific.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/graphs.jpg?resize=550%2C398

TonyHeller666No_5

On a technicality, yeh bravo!!. Doesn't mean that the graph is wrong!... Your explanation of the scientific method is definitely something Tony doesn't do!!! 🤔... I'm sick of repeating myself with people like you & Tony. You just stick with beliefs & your graphs that were drawn up with a crayons 👍

That was a waste of 1:25. When did record keeping begin? After the world wide cooling of the Little Ice Age. Wow! We warmed up slightly.

notmev

@Billington Try and understand that it is the rate of climate change that is happening that is the problem. Also you keep mentioning "THE LITTLE ICE AGE"! https://skepticalscience.com/akasofu-LIA-recovery.htm https://skepticalscience.com/coming-out-of-little-ice-age.htm Give me some facts that support that we have warmed up slightly, or the LIA was global, or the same physics that got us out of the LIA is causing us to "warm up slightly". You only puke out beliefs. I've not seen you back up any statment of yours wth data, or a substantial.

Billington

The little Ice Age was real and global. You can do your own research, I don't want to be accused of cherry picking data. You could start by looking into the new ice core data coming out of the Alps. Very interesting core data, it's not Greenland or Antarctica, places where people and records didn't exist until very recently. This is the area where "Iceman" was discovered. Human records go way back, instrument data has been there for almost as long as there has been thermometers, so you can see the core data with the instrument data, pretty cool. One thing Tony brings up often is that the Arctic was ice free ~6,000 years ago. Here is a line from this Nature article about the Alps: " The glaciological settings and state-of-the-art micro-radiocarbon age constraints indicate that the summit has been glaciated for about 5900 years." And please, don't say things like puke, you are not .666" dick, I think you and I could have a more civil debate. Also, if you look at the Younger Dryas you will see temps went up and down more extreme than anything now. https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-77518-9 And something about the Younger Dryas. https://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sites/default/files/styles/full_page_width/public/Years-before-present-Younger-Dryas.jpg?itok=eL0wDCg-

notmev

@Billington I will try and not use words like "puke" in the future. Sometimes my internal editor is turned off! Thanks for the links, I will read them. Provide as many links to papers that you have. So what if I accuse you of cherry picking. Any one who cherry picks (from both side) should be called out. Climate change is inherently noisy and error bars/probabilities should always be part of the discussion. My bosses would have thrown me out of the nearest window if I ever presented a performance prediction and said that it would have a 100% chance of meeting all the design goals. I think by the time I got the words out that I was joking, I would already have been out the window.

Billington

I don't really think cherry picking is a problem. I often ask those who accuse me of cherry picking to show me how they put a puzzle together? I "cherry pick" the pieces with a flat edge (the boarder) and I really want to "cherry Pick" the corners. I'm trying to frame an argument.

gregmax68

CO2, arguably, doesn't even correlate with increasing "global" atmospheric temperatures. The non-science fools think that simply the presence of the greenhouse element CO2 in larger ppm REQUIRES that it increase temps. But it's only ONE greenhouse element. It's entirely possible that as CO2 concentrations increase, water vapor increases and compensates for the slightly larger amount of CO2. It's clear with all the Covid hysteria that there are people who will lie to push their agendas and the sheep will just get in line to follow orders and parrot the bullshit.

TonyRomano

CO2 has saturation points, any real chemist can 100% prove climate science is poppycock.

Something I find truly appalling about these climate radicals: they never expressed any hope that their predictions of doom and catastrophe are wrong. They hope these disasters happen and that the human race is wiped out. That will justify their view that the human race is evil and a blight on our planet.

Billington

Climate radicals? Maybe a more accurate term would be "Climate Bigots"?

Arguing with these climate warriors is exactly like trying reason with someone who doesn’t speak your language. I have watched quite a few videos lately of D’nesh Dsouza trying to reason with college students. Their stupidity and lack of even the most basic education is amazing.

Too bad I've never been on FB or Titter because now I can't look forward to being deleted. I'm wondering when the climate change narrative will switch to global cooling. Renewable energy sources sound like a great thing until you realize it takes a whole lot of that nasty coal and oil to keep all parts in machines moving and the process for delivering all that "green" energy is carbon intensive. Trump gave us a shot and Biden is squandering it.

I'd like to see Tony do a nice expose on National Geographics BS on Polar Bears and Walruses. There was some horrific deception. National Geographic Partners, LLC is a joint venture between The Walt Disney Company (which owns 73% of shares) and the namesake non-profit scientific organization National Geographic Society (which owns 27%). It's painful to see SO many people swallow Climate Change Propaganda faux-science. You can't even begin to have an intelligent discussion with some of these individuals. They immediately act as if you've committed blasphemy by even questioning the official narrative and conformity of thought is demanded. 🙄

Just as questioning the election results or attempting to provide real information about mask-wearing and the "vaccine" have been eliminated so will, eventually, any climate change "deniers".
