Australia is about a 12th of the apparent globes surface.. I have flown, walked, hitchhiked, and been sent around, prior to travelling a heap off for fun... and Australia is the flattest 12th of earth I recon you will find.... other than than the Abysmal plains, the Sahara perhaps and the largest flat salt lake in Bolivia.... naa, know where close sooooo... Good luck globers , you'll then have to answer - How Polaris can stay in a set position for more than a visual 72.2 years.... (should work out to approx a degree.. hasn't happened in mine or my dad's life time, you obviously see the problem... research will show the Islamic Moorish culture is supposed to have referred to Polaris as The Nail Of The Heavens... so either they where wrong ( good luck in arguing with them on that)
or they were not, the European sextant doesn't need a flat base to calculate position from a known point when referenced to a 90 degree base, (which can not be for the math to work) Your own ears will not detect a difference when travelling from the equator to either apparent pole, which any Mary-go-round like ride or gentle spin will trigger a reaction so an "interruption" during any point of the imagined journey would be 'experienced', 'picked up', or 'physically felt' and possibly 'bodily expelled' though vomit or diarrheal caused through a motion sickness of some type would be quite understandable. journey ...
